Red hot Emmy gowns!

Last night the ladies pulled out all the stops and were looking mighty fine at the 2010 Emmy Awards show. A lot of long, elegant gowns were being showcased and the word stunning would be an understatement.

In no particular order ... drum roll please ... here are my top 5 picks!

Lea Michele - The Glee cutie looked absolutely gorgeous in Oscar de la Renta paired with Lorraine Schwartz diamonds. Love this colour!

Maria Menounos - TV host Maria Menounos tried something a little different and wore a cut-out Ralph and Ruso chocolate brown gown. The detailing on this piece is dazzling.

Jewel - The counrty singer looked amazing in a blush, strapless lace gown from Zuhair Murad's Fall 2010 collection. Her Christian Louboutin clutch and drop earrings were a perfect match to complete her look.

Claire Danes - Gorgeous in a Giorgio Armani Prive muted bronze evening gown, she kept the look clean, simple and classic with minimal accessories. Beautiful!

Julie Bowen - Modern Family's stunner kept it feminine in this form fitting, silk gown from J. Mendel. Minimal accessories were worn ... as this dress can speak for itself!    

It's effortless & sassy ... it's Ombre Hair

When it comes to hair ... us gals have no limits! Whatever the price, wherever the location … we can all admit we have gone the distance to achieve greatness and have that “it moment” hairstyle. Some experiences better than others of course, but I can honestly say I have always learned something along the way … (For example, I won’t look exactly like Halle Berry if I cut all my hair off pixie style … yikes not one of my finest moves!) This season’s “must-have hairdo” and most requested right now in salons is Ombre Hair. Huh?? What is Ombre Hair you may ask ... ??? It’s the graduation of colour from light to dark … and/or most trendy right now … dark to light. So in other words, basically looking like you haven’t had your roots done in over a year. Gasp!! So the always necessary need to maintain one’s root’s is being overruled? Correct. There is definitely something appealing about the relaxed, hassle-free look that I quite enjoy. Maybe it’s the effortless “yes I know my roots are showing, but look how hot I still am” attitude and confidence … or maybe it’s the fact that I personally wouldn’t have to visit the salon as often and could actually save a couple bills. If done right, I think this hair trend is a good one to hang onto and try! Thoughts??

Fall eyeshadows to keep in mind!

Although I love the summer and it's "fresh faced" ... "beachy bombshell babe" makeup look ... lets be honest here, sometimes with the heat it can be hard to maintain a flawless looking face all day long. That's why fall makeup is my overall fav! No sweat, no mess. This season is all about bold eyeshadows. You will see a lot of metallic golds, bronze & coppers ... rich plum-like colours, heavy charcoal grey and even dark blues/greens. Mix any ony of these with a smudged brown or black eyeliner and top with a couple coats of mascara and your peepers will be a poppin for sure! A tip to always keep in mind if you are doing a heavy shadow ... is to keep the rest of your makeup quite simple. You don't want to look too over done or made up ... let your eyes do the talking!

A closet I would love to steal!

We all know and love her as the always down to earth, easy going, stylish LC on the hit show ... (no longer a show ... single tear) The Hills. She was the one girl viewers always felt like they could relate to most ... minus of course the killer pad in LA, fast cars, pocket change and a stunning wardrobe to boot! She was/is a fav of mine on screen and off ... and definitely a style icon from head to toe. From her hair to makeup, clothing ... footwear, even nail polish colour, she is always on point. This girl has a closet that any girl would be lucky to "shop" in for a day. Let's take a look at LC at her best!

Military, Lace & Stripes oh my ...

On my recent trip to the mall this past weekend, I couldn't help but notice that summer has left us and that fall fashions are in full swing. To be honest, I don't mind. I mean lets be honest here ... who really enjoys getting ready while sweating. Ummm not me. Anyways, as mentioned in my previous post ... fall brings the new and old everything back again. TV, fall/winter sports and of course clothing trends and must-haves for the season. Military (camo), Lace and Stripes have arrived and I predict, here to stay!(For the season anyways). Camo is everywhere right now ... from shoes to bags, jackets, pants ... you name it ... it's a hot one. Lace is also being seen everywhere! Typically, you would wear this naughty-or-nice detail on shirts/tops however; it's everywhere! Jewelery, bags, pants, even shoes. I love it. And last but not least, Stripes. I have always been a fan of a good stripe, and this season it's all about horizontal stripes in navy blue, grey, black and red. Enjoy!

GG is back!

Although summer is coming to an end and it is slightly depressing ... one thing the keeps me going is all the new & old TV shows to hit the tube. One of my all time favs is back very soon ... Gossip Girl. Season premiere is on Monday September 13th 9/8c and I can assure you from Youtube spoilers that this season is full of suprises and drama ... just the way I like it. (On TV that is)
